the killburn special!!

when doin some of my routine reading on the hamb ,i noticed this thread from don moyer (an amazing builder ,collector i met in ohio) in which he did an excellent ebay score!!
he managed to get an old 32, 5 window ford for 1500 bucks with a cool history!!
turns out this old ford had been raced in the 1950's in the Detroit & Flint Michigan area by russ kilburn,,
after it's racin career russ sold it and it served as a display model for a race track,,
it was already in bad shape back then and soon wen't straight for the yard where it stayed until don found it,,
he not only found the ford ,he also found russ himself ,alive and kickin and reunited with his old racer,, how cool!!
there's lot's of kool story's to be told about don moyer , the guy has an excellent collection,,
